DUI in Germany–transfer to VA?

DUI traffic stop by German police. Referral to Military Police. Non-judicial punishment and revocation of US Army Europe driver’s license. No legal action, defense, conviction, etc. Provost Marshal is supposed to inform Virginia. Almost 3 months ago. What, if anything, might Virginia do to the license, and how might insurance (USAA) respond. Please, no nongermane, anti-drunk-driving answers.

There are always two aspects to a dui: the criminal aspect handled through the courts, and the administrative aspect handled through the state’s licensing agency. You have remedies of due process for both, but in my opinion it gets a lot more complicated dealing with a transportation department.

The first thing you should probably do is go online and order a copy of your driving history through the DOT website. If nothing shows up there, and your license is inforce, you might be in the clear.

Since there was never a conviction in a court of law, I would think it might be difficult for them restrict your drivers license, because they have no way of ensuring your due process rights were preserved. Every state has a statute recogizing dui convictions from other states, and they will restrict your license accordingly. But even a traffic ticket must result in conviction before it can go against your license. Absent conviction, I would think you have a very strong argument that your license in VA can’t be suspended.

What can I do to get my money back from a loan modification scam?

I paid a company upfront for a loan modification service. I have been working with them for over a year, but now they are not picking up their calls, their emails no longer work and the website is down. What steps can I take to try to get my money back? I already complained to the BBB and filed a complaint to the FTC.

If I seek litigation, what steps should I take?

Unless you know where they are located, so a law suit can be placed directly into their hands, you can’t sue them. If you can do that you need to prove in court that they did not do as they were contracted to do.

What type of commission can I expect as an independent for auto insurance?

I currently have my L&H, and am looking to add P&C license. I want to work as an independent & I understand that Progressive is a good company for that. Of course, if you know of any others, please feel free to let me know, so I can do good comparisons!

My question is, what type of payout is the “norm” for indi auto? I know when you work for the companies, just like with L&H, the payout is considerably lower than when you are indi. Also, I dont think that the payout is nearly the same as L&H. Is that so? How do the renewals work?

Thanks!

What’s “indi” auto? Indiana, or India? Commissions are about 10% for auto, regardless. The good news is, continuing commissions are ALSO 10%, so in the LONG run, it’s easier to build a business with P&C because your book will keep producing good commissions.

The bad news is, it’s really hard to get an appointment with the multi-line carriers, unless you have a decent book of 100K to transfer over to them, that’s profitable.

You might want to also consider Infinity Insurance, and nonstandard homeowners, Foremost Insurance, as they’re both pretty easy to get appointed with, and they don’t have book minimums.

Legal Fees Insurance

Is “Legal Cover” worth it for a bike insurance policy?

At least 2 companies offer it for free but my insurance company always try and sell it as an extra for £27. Is there any difference between the fee companies and the ones I’ve paid for. It’s my understanding that the legal cover companies earn commission separately from your claim/ Please help.

Absolutely. If you don’t have legal cover, your insurance company will have no responsibility to collect money from a third party to cover repairs to your car – I had a ‘not my fault’ claim years ago with no legal cover, and my insurer paid out the other chap, but basically told me that if I wanted money for my car, I’d have to pursue it with the other insurance company myself.
It’s a complete con, but a necessity.

Auto Insurance Online

Buying Auto Insurance Online Is So Quick And Easily

The internet has made buying auto insurance online so easy. You can reach many auto insurance companies. There are hundreds of them on the internet. Getting online car insurance can take just a few minutes. You will have your car insurance online quotes immediately. And the best thing about this is, there are so many companies competing for your business to give you the best rates.

The convenience of shopping for auto insurance online is fantastic. You can do this after work or even on the weekends. You can do this at your own pace. You don’t have worry about walking into a car insurance office and having to sit for hours. And when you do get to speak with a agent at the office, they are trying to up-sell you. You then loose your train of thought of the reason why you are in there the first place and what you are looking for. Yes, the office agent you are visiting can throw you off your path by getting you to buy other car insurance and offering you other add-ons you just don’t need. Buying online car insurance at least gives you the option to speak with a agent if you want to. If you decide to speak with a agent, there is nothing wrong with that. The agent can possibly help you put a plan together if you are working within a budget.

Before you start filling out applications, make sure the site you are using is very secured. You want to make sure that all your information is going to be confidential on a secured encrypted site. You should also make sure you read the website’s privacy policy. The website’s privacy should let you know if your info will be shared with third party companies/associates and this website should explain how you can opt out this if you choose too. If you do not want to share any of your contact info with third party companies, there is usually a email, phone number or mailing address to contact this website’s office so you can be deleted and have your name not put on anyone of their associate’s mailing list. This option is always usually available.

To make the application process easy, this is what you should have available.
A. Your name, address, phone numbers, age, sex, marital status. If you have just moved, then make sure you have your last address and phone number available.
B. Make sure you know exactly what is on your driving record. If you have any speeding tickets, accidents or traffic violations, let the auto insurance online company know this. You might as well because they are going to find out anyway. Moreover, do not put any false information on your application. This could backfire on you.
C. Make sure you have the year of the car, the make and the model.
D. Let them know how far you drive.
E. You also have to give your social security number so they can do a credit check.

When all of the above information is provided and you put all of this on your online application, press that submit button. And in a few minutes you should received your car insurance online quotes. Many sites will give you this information immediately. You can then choose to accept a online car insurance quote right away or you can choose to have more info sent to you by email or regular mail.

There are some drawbacks when dealing with some online car insurance websites so beware. At some auto insurance companies you deal with online, you will only be able to buy just auto insurance and I know this is what you want to do. However, if you were looking to get some property or life insurance also, you may not be able to do that. The reverse side of this is, you may have some auto insurance sites that will offer you a bunch of discounts with your auto insurance policy. However, you can only get these discounts if you buy also some life or property insurance. In other words, just be careful and read between the lines because some sites do this. There are always going to be some drawbacks in some of the things we do. However, one thing I can say is, buying auto insurance online is still the best way to go. I have also noticed that there is now a somewhat positive side to this. Since online car insurance is so competitive, I have seen some car insurance sites change some of their policies on this.

Another thing you really need to pay attention to is, if you are getting various quotes from different car companies, make sure you really compare the same types of policy when it comes to savings. For example, if you may want to take away some of the deductibles on policy A to save some money. However, on policy B you are getting all of those deductibles but if you get into a car accident you may be paying more. Watch out and have a strong third eye when it comes to comparing policies of the same type.

Finally, you need to be aware of these two options. There are direct companies and comparison site companies. Direct Companies are like Progressive of Geico. They have their own applications at their site that will give you quotes directly from their company. You then have Comparison Site Companies. These types of company websites have a form that will allow you to receive car insurance online quotes from several different insurances companies. I love these kinds of sites. These sites can quickly show you how to save the most money. You are getting many car insurance online quotes all at the same time.

Good luck in your search and keep searching until you find auto insurance online that is right for you and that is within your budget. I promise you will find a good deal. They are just so many auto insurance companies. They are right here online.

Do I have to show proof of ownership of a car to get car insurance online?

Do I need to show any type of proof or give a vin number for a car to buy auto insurance online?

You don’t need to show proof of ownership (but if you’re doing it for a friend who owns/uses it, they should be a listed driver). A VIN usually helps determine the symbol for the car (replacement cost — needed to calculate comp and collision). But you’ll do better finding a local independent agent with lots of companies, explain any situations that may need special handling (DUI’s, teen drivers, no prior insurance, combining with homeowners/renters, etc.). The usual advice is: higher coverage (slight price increase), higher deductible (lowers the price), honesty about your record. Your credit rating can also affect the price with most companies — be prepared to be asked for a SSN, or to give them your credit score in lieu of this. Independent agents can usually get you a better price, because they can comparison shop many companies (would you rather priceline/travelocity if you’re looking for an airline ticket, or would you rather call each airline?).

Legal Insurance For Business

legal insurance for business
how do i start a dog walking business?

Hello i am leaving college soon and i really want to walk peoples dogs for a Living as its something i want to do. but im abit confused about the whole legal side.like how and what insurance do i need? Pet Business Insurance? and how much is it?..also what is an agreement between you and the dog owner and how do i do it??? will i need to pay tax? please can someone help me and if u r a dog walker how did u start???

Dogs are “in” these days. The pet industry is huge and only getting bigger and more lucrative. Dog walking is one aspect of this growing business. Here is how to get a start.

Step 1-Gather references for the dog walking service. You should have prior experience taking care of dogs before emBARKing on this venture. Ask the owners of the dogs you have taken care of for written recommendations and ask them if it is acceptable to them for you to provide their contact information to prospective clients.

Step 2-Get a billing system up and running. In the beginning you may think your billing method does not have to be structured or sophisticated, but you watch, business will build up and you will need to stay on top of clients and their payments. Excel and Quicken are two good programs to utilize. Quicken will help you (Quick Books) with taxes, workers comp, and other issues that may arise as your company grows.

Step 3-Seek legal advice. Many dog walkers perform their services under the table. While this is very lucrative and provides less of a paperwork hassle, it can be a bad choice. Walking dogs carries liabilities. You are responsible for the safety of an owner’s dog-you want to make sure your company, and not you, personally, are liable in the event of an accident. If you employ other walkers you must have worker’s comp. Ask your lawyer about the best way to go about setting up the business as legitimate.

Step 4-Get the right equipment. Dog owners will generally supply leashes and harnesses for their own pet, but you never know what will happen along the way. Always have extra leashes, harnesses, collars. Always have water and treats on hand for your dogs.

Step 5-Learn the streets. If you do not already know your territory, study a map of the streets on which you will be walking. You should not be distracted while you are walking the dogs-looking at a map can mean a misstep for you and/or Fido.

Step 6-Advertising is good, but word of mouth is the best. The pet community is very tight. Provide satisfied clients with your business card. Offer referral incentives to current clients (free dog walks, etc) to generate even more business.

Step 7-Dress appropriately. Dress in layers so that you can be prepared for any change in temperature or weather pattern.

Step 8-Lastly, hire help. The only real way to make money in any industry is to have people working FOR you. Hire reliable and honest workers who have experience with dog walking. Remember, you are only as good as your weakest employee. Be VERY discriminate when hiring. You are entrusting the lives of loved pets with these people.

Disability Insurance Disputes – Business Overhead

Business overhead insurance disputes can be crucial to the long-term success of a small business, partnership or professional practice. When a disability suit occurs, the business owner is hit hard with expenses, all the while losing valuable income from the halting of the business. Many businesses are forced into failure each year because they were denied valid business overhead insurance claims from their insurance companies. When a founder or key employee becomes totally or partially disabled, the business may be in jeopardy.

Business insurance is purchased to prevent major loss in the event something bad does happen, but will your insurance company live up to its end of the bargain, or will they deny your claim?
Business overhead insurance is a limited type of insurance that should pay benefits for a defined period of time (often up to two years). Without this assistance, it is unlikely that a disabled business owner can maintain expenses long enough to recover and get the business back on its feet. In a partnership, each partner may be covered under a separate policy, based on individual expenses.

When an insurance company denies a business overhead insurance claim, the insured’s lawyer must demonstrate to the court that the plaintiff is legally disabled under the terms of the contract and that expenses requested as an award were incurred during the time of disability. Your lawyer can help you interpret your policy and determine exactly what benefits you are entitled to. Depending on your unique policy, your elimination period, waiver of premium, choice of monthly benefit amount, choice of benefit periods and additional benefits should be reviewed and thoroughly explained. At David Share Associates, our disability overhead insurance lawyers are ready to fight to get you all the benefits you need and deserve to maintain a successful business.

There are time limits to all business disability insurance disputes and any delay in proceeding may be subject to a deadline. You should not delay in proceeding with your claim or obtaining legal advice to clarify these deadlines.H

Company Car Insurance

Don’t be fooled by car insurance company advertising tactics

I have been in the car insurance game for a while and every time a car insurance advertisement comes on TV I cringe and their blatant attempt to fool consumers.  They make claims such as offering good drivers a better price and make out they are the only car insurance company or underwriter doing so. They twist words so their ad passes the regulators but I know that in Australia car insurance companies have one of the highest complaint rates about their advertising – and this does not surprise me one little bit.

Below are some things to watch out for and some pointer which might help you not get sucked in by an advertisement that is obviously trying to fool you.

1 – All companies give discounts to good drivers: I have profiles over 80 car insurance companies and can tell you that ALL companies give good driver s a discount.  It is called No Claims Discount (NCD) or No Claims Bonus (NCB).  Basically for every year you don’t make a car insurance claim your rating will improve until it can go no higher.  Every car insurance underwriter treats ratings differently and how they calculate a rating will be different from one insurer to another but mostly a discount for a rating 1 (the highest rating) will be 60-70%.

2 – No company is the cheapest for everyone: Some ads I see on TV make you seem that the company is always the cheapest for car insurance. This is not the case.  Car insurance is priced based on a pool of people, mush like a betting tote.  They use statistics to price each policy.  For instance, if a large % of young drivers make claims then the following month/year premiums for young drivers will go up.  Each underwriter or company will have a different pool of customer and claims and therefore will price differently. From the 10000 quotes I have on my database, every company is the cheapest and also the most expensive for a least one demography.  You should also get multiple car insurance quotes to make a proper comparison.

3 – Feature is very very similar: Features of an insurance policy are very similar and usually differ only slightly.  Don’t believe that one company’ car insurance policies are better than another because usually this is not true.  They might be different but not necessarily better.  You should go through the PDS (product disclosure statement) before you purchase your car insurance.  If it doesn’t include something you need then move on and find another company.

Next time you are getting quotes and deciding what vehicle insurance policy to buy, just remember that each car insurance company has its own tactics to get your business and will go to any length to suck you in.  You are best off doing your own research in order to get the best policies, company and price.

Imagine Life Without Property Insurance? How Would You Sleep at Night?

Imagine going through life with no insurance at all. Must be a bit like driving car without a seat belt in place.

For most people, insurance is a necessary aspect of life. It is the safety net that protects you from a crushing fall or an imminent disappointment during hard times.

Nothing is worse than an unforeseen natural or man-made disaster that unfortunately removes earnings capacity or assets from you or your business.

There are many types of insurance available, such as life, auto, workman’s compensation, liability. And, sometimes it would seem that we can “over-insure” ourselves.

But perhaps the commonest type that is really necessary is property insurance. Whether you are a homeowner or a business operator, property insurance is the one area you should not neglect. So, what is property insurance?

Property Insurance – A Definition

This cover is a type of insurance that provides protection for building structure or structures and its contents. This coverage is malleable and is oftentimes depended on the consumers needs. In some cases, the cover may protect outdoor signs, crime coverage, and property of others, glass coverage, and more.

You can get property insurance through a written contract, called a policy. This policy legally binds you, the policyholder, with an insurance company. The policyholder will pay the insurance company a certain amount of money, called ‘a premium’ and in exchange, the company will agree to pay for certain types of damages or losses. These damages or losses to be covered by the policy are outlined specifically in the contract.

Property Insurance – Importance and Benefits

Property Insurance has many benefits. Monetary value is one of these benefits that such cover can provide .

The company on risk will pay for damages or losses you encounter in such cases as fire or theft. It is therefore a way for you to protect yourself and your interests.

The amount of money you get from the insurance company will depend on how much cover you’ve bought at the time of the contract-signing.

For instance, if you bought a $100,000 amount of protection, your insurer will only pay for replacement or reconstruction of damaged property up to that stated amount. Most property insurance companies pay up to 10% in total damages.

Property Insurance – Types

There are many types of property insurance available. Most of these are categorized according to the needs of the policyholders.

For instance, a landlord has different cover needs than a homeowner. What the landlord owns is rental property and the specifics involved in that property type is different from a home. Rental property insurance covers the damages or losses arising from negligence on the tenants part.

As all schemes, rental property insurance offers coverage for the actual building structure and its contents. Rental property insurance can pay for the cost of repairing damaged articles, such as carpets, furniture, curtains, and other house items, caused by guests or tenants.

A homeowners policy provides the same type of coverage offered by a typical property insurance policy.

Most lenders require buyers to have property insurance when applying for a mortgage.

The homeowners insurance policy gives the lenders the security they need to close the sale. It also protects the homeowner from damages caused by disasters, such as fires, floods, earthquakes, theft, vandalism, and the like.

There are several other types of property insurance available. From small business, to medium enterprise, to commercial properties – there’s a different kind of coverage for each.

Car Insurance – How to Compare Rates From Multiple Companies Instantly

The reason we compare car insurance quotes from multiple car insurance companies is to make sure we‘re getting the best rates possible. Of course nobody wants to pay more money than they have to, but in the other hand we also want to make sure that our car insurance company is going to respond quickly and fairly in case of an accident.

What is unknown to many is that there is not one single car insurance company that is cheaper than others. One particular car insurance company can be the cheapest for one person but the most expensive for another. Each car insurance company has a certain category of drivers they want to insure. If you fit their category they will offer you a cheap rate, if you don’t, they will offer you an expensive rate. That is their way of filtering the people they want and do not want to insure. That is the reason we need to compare insurance rates from multiple car insurance companies, to find out which company will offer us the cheapest rate. The key is to find the company that offers the cheapest rate for you, but of course, it is important to compare rates from quality companies only.

There are many quality car insurance companies out there; however, some of those quality companies also have a high price to go along with them. How do we find a quality company for a cheap price? That, my friend, is the key question.

The traditional method of shopping for car insurance is to call around which we all know can be a long process. Another drawback of shopping for car insurance by phone is the probability of getting caught with the old “bait and hook†trick. That is when someone gives you a low quote by phone and hikes it up on you when you go into their office to purchase the car insurance policy.

In today’s world, luckily, we have the internet. The internet makes life a lot easier for all of us. Using the internet, we can shop for many types of things we may need which include shopping for car insurance.

Shopping for car insurance online is the best way to compare rates from multiple car insurance companies. Online, you can also read about a company’s history and make sure they’re a quality company. Most companies offer instant online car insurance quotes thorough their websites which makes obtaining car insurance quotes a lot easier than the traditional method of shopping by phone. Better yet, there are some websites that offer online car insurance quotes from multiple companies with one simple process. You can even purchase your car insurance online if you like the price. One such website is OnlineAutoInsurance.com. There, you can obtain quotes from quality companies such as Progressive, AIG, Infinity, GMAC, Bristol West, and several more. All with one simple process!

How do you get proof of car insurance without a car?

I had my brother listed as a driver on my insurance policy and he is moving so will no longer be using my car. The insurance company is requiring that I show proof of insurance before removing him from the policy. They are telling me there is no other way to remove him from the policy due to a DUI charge. Is it even possible to get car insurance without a car? What should I do?
I have been in contact again with the insurance company and here is what they wrote back “The only proof we can accept to remove youthful driver’s is Proof of
Other Insurance.” What is the age limit on a youthful driver? My brohter is 24.

If you have an insurance company that is refusing to allow you to remove an authorized driver from your policy unless you PROVE the authorized driver has insurance elsewhere, it’s time to get a new policy in place at another company and then drop your current insurance. That is ridiculous.

If you want to stay with that company for some reason (although I couldn’t think of any) you might call your agent and ask why you need to do that, and tell him you will switch if you can’t, and see what happens.
