Insurance Litigation

Fred Loya Insurance. is the the worst insurance to deal with.?

I had an acciddent on the highway where a driving truck’s debris fell and hit my car in front causing my car to overheat after waiting for 4 hours for the police to clear the highway and push my car out of the median. me and my granddaughter were given a ride to my home in a police vehicle. and my car was towed to friendly chevrolet dealership in dallas, tx. after alot of litigation and arguing with fred loya insurance. fred loya agent decided that only my bumper would be covered. and that was that. they said it was a maintenance issue that cause my engine to overheat…the guy from fred loya came to my house to determine whether and right away said nope, it all would not be covered, he gavve me his card and left my house. then I called the 800 number for fred loya and tlked to the agent in charge of my claim . he took advise for me to take my car to friendly cheverolet because they do business with each other… stuipid me said ok. they refuse to pay anyting else but the bumper…

I don’t understand how damage to a bumper can cause a car to overheat. I don’t understand how anything hitting the front of the car can cause it to overheat without doing a lot of other front end damage, unless you can prove something managed to puncture the radiator. I also don’t understand why your car wasn’t going anywhere, but it was running for 4 hours.

Medical Malpractice… Tort Reform anyone?

I am applying to medical school and would love to learn more about people’s opinions regarding the outrageous medical malpractice suits.

In conjunction with tort reform, Doctor’s opinions should be less important. There needs to be a “checklist” like pilots must use before takeoff. Every heart patient for example, should have the same diagnosis plan and treatment plans throughout the country. Uniformity keeps our airways relatively safe as every pilot must follow a specific set of rules.
This type of practice will not only reduce mistakes causing injury and death due to human error but it will also reduce spiraling medical costs.

Three major endorsements for health courts Three major endorsements of the health courts have recently arisen before, as a nation is dealing with ever-rising costs in health care and the reality that better care at lower cost is required.

Lawsuits Insurance

If llimits are put on malpractice lawsuits, how much have the insurance co’s promised to lower premiums?

Sorry about the “llimits” – gotta clean my glasses…
This is the right’s answer to controling healthcare costs. How much will it save me?

California has tort reform. They cap malpractice awards. Medical insurance is not significantly cheaper in California. The reason medical costs keep going up is because we don’t let people die in the streets of curable ailments. People are treated and they pay until they go broke. The hospital eats the rest. They then pass the costs on to those who can still pay. It is is a vicious cycle. You get sick, you go poor, you pass the cost on to others, they get sick, they go poor even faster, and so on.

what are front-end and back-end limits when referring to filing malpractice law suits?

Because states often had separate provisions for injuries that were immediately obvious and for injuries that might take years to discover, three separate scales were constructed: for “front-end limits” or the years allowed from injury or “reasonable discovery” to suit (scores ranged from 1 [more than four years with significant exclusions] to 7 [one year with no significant exclusions]); for “back-end limits” or the maximum number of years allowed from alleged event to filing (scores ranged from 1 [no limit] to 7 [one-year limit]); and for special provisions for injuries to children (scores ranged from 1 [minors excluded until at least age eighteen] to 3 [no exclusion for minors]).

Legal Fees Insurance

Is “Legal Cover” worth it for a bike insurance policy?

At least 2 companies offer it for free but my insurance company always try and sell it as an extra for £27. Is there any difference between the fee companies and the ones I’ve paid for. It’s my understanding that the legal cover companies earn commission separately from your claim/ Please help.

Absolutely. If you don’t have legal cover, your insurance company will have no responsibility to collect money from a third party to cover repairs to your car – I had a ‘not my fault’ claim years ago with no legal cover, and my insurer paid out the other chap, but basically told me that if I wanted money for my car, I’d have to pursue it with the other insurance company myself.
It’s a complete con, but a necessity.
