Why people should have a PrePaid Legal Plan……?

I have seen a lot of people rip on PrePaid Legal and say that it is a scam. I am an associate for PrePaid Legal, but even if I wasn’t, I would say those people are wrong! It is not a scam! I have saved THOUSANDS of dollars with only a few matters with my provider lawfirm.

1. I have used my provider law firm prepare my will for me and my family. It would have cost me $700 locally to have it done by an attorney in my town.

2. I got a speeding ticket, and my attorney law firm got it reduced to a “illegal turn” citation. No points, and 1/2 of the fine. My city is not known for reducing fines. Savings of about $1,500 in three years for insurance rates increase.

3. They reviewed my business documents at no charge, and now I don’t sign anything without them looking at contracts. This is HUGE!

4. A furniture store refused to clean my sofas with their “protection” plan. I called the law firm, and the cleaners came out the next day.

I just want to know some don’t like PPLSI.

I have a plan and use it. I don’t understand all the bad things people say. They are wrong.

What are the pitfalls of Pre Paid Leagal Service?

They only cover certain things under very specific circumstances. They have a few things that come under the coverage, but like any insurance (Which is exactly what it is) they have a slew of exclusions.

Say if you needed a murder defense, you would be referred to a local attorney and have to pay.

IDENTITY THEFT PROTECTION

IDENTITY THEFT PROTECTION

Top of Form

Bottom of Form

Identity theft has been defined as ‘the process of using someone else’s personal information for ones own personal gain’. Researchers have been studying identity theft closely since 2004 and release a yearly ‘findings’ report. Their 2009 study reveals that:

· Identity theft is on the rise, affecting almost 10 million victims in 2008 (a 22% increase from 2007)

· Victims are spending less money out of pocket to correct the damage from ID theft. The mean cost per victim is $500, and most victims pay nothing due to zero-liability fraud protection programs offered by their financial institutions.

· 71% of fraud happens within a week of stealing a victim’s personal data.

· Low-tech methods for stealing personal information are still the most popular for identity thieves. Stolen wallets and physical documents accounted for 43% of all identity theft, while online methods accounted for only 11%.

Anyone can become a victim of Identity Theft. It can take just seconds to occur and could take months or years to correct. So, what does all this data translate to for you and me? It means that we need to invest in an Identity Theft Protection program. Pre-Paid Legal’s Identity Theft ShieldSM is an affordable solution. Your Identity Theft Protection membership will first provide an up-to-date Experian credit report. This report will be reviewed and analyzed to see if any suspicious has already occurred. From that point on your credit is monitored. You will be alerted if new activity is added to your credit report. If the activity is not initiated by you, it can point to identity theft.

Your coverage begins as soon as your application is completed. The application process takes just a few minutes to complete, and the Identity Theft Protection program really doesn’t cost that much. Especially considering what you are protecting. Everyone needs protection from identity theft. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you live or what your profession is, everyone is at risk for identity theft. Even your minor children are at risk for this devastating and financially debilitation crime. So PrePaid Legal.com even has program for minor children called SAFEGUARD For Minors.

To take your first step in protecting your future credit and to start the identity theft protection, visit the website www.prepaidlegal.com/info/luismarques. Then click on the Identity Theft Shield link. There you will find all the information you will need to determine which program is best suited for your Identity Theft Protection needs.

What is the best way to market my prepaid legal business?

I recently became an associate of prepaid legal which I think provides a great service – my website is www.prepaidlegal.com/go/sarahpaine but how can I generate more visits to my site and more leads that can be converted into sales? Anyone who has done this could be of great assistance – I am working on my mba and looking to generate some extra cash.
Thanks Sarah

Sarah, FIRST never give your full name on an internet site like this (look at this listing closely and you’ll se what I mean unless you’re using a pseudonym). Only give info like that if you initiated the visit and you see https:// at the begining of the address. Hopefully you knew that and your actual name isn’t revealed here.

I subscribed to PrePaid Legal for quite a while, but found we never used it except for the will – and even that we put off. The problem was, if there was a real legal issue they couldn’t really do anything beyond write a letter for us. And even then, we’d end up composing the letter and they might send it on their letterhead. So be prepared for that objection.

But that wasn’t your question. Does PPL offer co-op advertising? That’s where a franchisor offers to pay all or part of your advertising and you usually use ads they’ve prepared that have room for your local info. This holds true for print, radio and TV.

I hate to say it, but, unless you’ve got the money for advertising, your best bet is dialing for dollars. Get out the phone book or compile a list of small-medium businesses in your area from the web and start calling. Start with those closest to you to save on time and gas. Ask friends and family to listen to your presentation (or “pitch”). If you can get through the gatekeeper (usually a receptionist – but don’t ever assume ’cause it may be the bosses wife), try to reach the owner. Have the owner’s name in advance, don’t just ask for the owner, it immediately IDs you a a cold-caller who hasn’t done her research.

Open with something like, Hi this is Sarah Yourlastname with Pre-Paid Legal, may I speak with Mr. Johnson, please? Then take it from there. Keep good notes, be prepared, know your product and always “close.” That means get something from the call. Either an appt. to talk in person, or another phone call at a better time or just plain old ask for the business.

There’s lots of books and web sites on selling. Devour them.

Best of luck.

Prepaid Legal Plan

prepaid legal plan

Types of Legal Plans

Tired of the same old dating scene? Meet striking young women hot for marriage – AND YOU! Maybe A Russian Bride Is In Your Future, Take A Look At Some Photos NOW!(

Types of Legal Plans

A prepaid legal plan is a scheme based on the payment in advance of a set
fee to defray the cost of providing future legal services to the members
enrolled in the scheme. They vary in cost, scope of legal coverage provided
and how the legal services are provided. We will look at the different
types of pre-paid legal plans available in the United States and how to
enrol into them

An individual pre-paid legal plan is readily accessible to the general
public. There are two types of individual plans: access and comprehensive.
An access pre-paid legal plan is the most basic plan. It is designed to
give easy access to lawyer and a set of simple legal services for a low
cost. Basic services furnished include unlimited toll-free phone access to
your attorney for consultation and advice, letters written by the lawyer on
your behalf, brief office consultation and the drafting or review of simple
legal documents.

Complex legal issues not covered will be subject to an hourly or flat rate
negotiatable with your provider

The comprehensive plan goes beyond basic legal services, to offer more
complex and comprehensive coverage for a premium in cost. Generally, all
the benefits of an access plan are provided at no cost to you, plus a
broader range of services like drafting complicated legal documents,
negotiations with adverse parties, legal representation in court cases such
as divorce and child custody. They also cover all the costs involved in a
legal litigation. Comprehensive plans typically start at $300 per year and
are most beneficial to middle-class families.

A group legal plan is typically sponsored by an organization as a fringe
benefit to its members. The lawyer or law firm contracted provides free or
low-cost legal coverage to all members of the sponsoring organization.
Employers, labour unions and even universities are now increasingly
offering group legal plans to enhance the value of their benefits package
and reduce the cost of administrative burden. Law firms are contracted to
provide participating members telephone and office consultation for their
most frequently needed legal matters. These typically include: Preparation
of wills and trusts, document preparation and review, debt and real estate
matters and family law.

Additional legal coverage can be contracted according to a fee schedule
negotiable between the plan sponsor and provider, and publicised to
participating members.

What is Predatory Lending?

Predatory Lending is a practice wherein a lender forces you into abusive or unfair lending terms. This can be in the form of high interest rates, unreasonable penalties, and hidden fees that aren’t part of the mortgage contract. Often, the contract is written out so that it’s all but impossible for the borrower to get out of it, even when it puts them under financial stress. In fact, studies show that most of today’s foreclosures and defaults can be traced to some form of predatory lending.

How do I know I’m a victim?

Many predatory mortgages are so subtle that the borrower doesn’t know it—until things get out of hand and they’re facing foreclosure. But the earlier you take action, the faster you can set things right. Here are some signs that tell you if you’re on the losing end of the deal.

  • Excessive fees. Some fees can be financed but are not directly affected by the interest rate. This makes them easy to disguise or manipulate. Fees below 1% of your loan amount are usually no cause for concern, but if they add up to more than 5%, you should get suspicious.
  • Prepayment penalties. It’s common for lenders to charge you a penalty if you pay off your loan in advance. This is to make up for the interest they lose by letting you off early. The penalty is considered abusive if it’s effective for more than three years or is worth more than six months of interest.
  • Yield Spread Premiums. This is a fancy name for the kickbacks your lender pays a broker to steer you into a high-interest or sub-prime loan. If you see this term on your bill, you’re probably paying more interest than is legally acceptable.
  • Refinancing offers. If your lender offers you a tempting refinance package, think twice about it. It may be a form of loan flipping, a practice they use to generate income without giving you any tangible benefits. In the long term, the refinance can simply drain your equity and increase your monthly payments.
  • Mandatory arbitration. This is one of the most common predatory practices. Mandatory arbitration is a provision in many contracts that bans you from going to court if you find the terms abusive. You’re basically being denied of your rights to justice.

What are my rights?

Most cases of predatory lending violate the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). These laws were put in place to protect borrowers like you, but lenders continue to violate them every day and trick millions of people out of their money. The best way to protect yourself is to know these laws and the rights they give you.

For one thing, you always have the right to speak up whenever you feel you’re being cheated. Sometimes it’s as simple as calling your lender and asking them to explain vague or overly high charges. They may or may not give a useful answer, but it’s important to let them know you’re not being fooled.

Even if you’re already in foreclosure, there are always steps you can take to correct the situation and save your home. Find a competent lawyer to help you out and look for RESPA and TILA violations in your contract. In most cases, the laws can help stop foreclosure and even give pay you back in damages.

What can I do?

If predatory lending has put you in serious financial trouble, one thing you can do is apply for a loan modification. This is a simple way to restructure the terms of your loan into something more reasonable and helps you stop foreclosure. All you need to do is call a loan modification attorney, a person who specializes in talking to lenders and negotiating for proper mortgage assistance.

You will have to provide some documents so that they can properly assess your case, including a hardship letter that explains your situation. Your Loan modification attorney can use violations to negotiate better settlements with your lender. These may include misleading disclosures, exorbitant fees, or any of the signs mentioned above. Nearly every mortgage has at least one violation, but it takes a good understanding of the law to point them out.

After submitting your application, your attorney will start negotiating for better rates. When needed, they will use RESPA and TILA violations as leverage for getting the best loan modification offers. When it’s approved, you’ll receive a document detailing the mortgage modification, whether it’s a a lower interest rate, or some form of mortgage assistance. Once you approve it, you can keep your home and start paying off your mortgage at a comfortable pace.

Is a prepaid legal services good for someone just charged with a felony?

My friend just got charged as a felon for graffiti….I was looking for lawyers for him, but he cannot afford any private attorneys….and I don’t think a public defender will be any good. I heard about a prepaid legal services where he would pay $40 a month but I am not sure if this is for him……he’s only 18 and I don’t wanna see him go to jail or get a felony conviction on his record….

I’ll tell ya right now, he would still have to pay something for the attorney. This would fall under the 25% discount area. That means he would get that 25% off of the attorney’s original fees.

Prepaid Legal Services Review

prepaid legal services review
Prepaid Legal Services Review – Is Prepaid Legal Fraud? ?

My research last year (on the internet) said it is a fraud: They have some educational pamphlets and referrals to expensive lawyers.

Prepaid Legal Services Review. Is Prepaid Legal Fraud?

Prepaid Legal Services – A Review

The purpose of this article is to provide some helpful information on the Prepaid Legal product and business opportunity.

Company Background:

The concept for this business came about in 1972 when founder, Harland Stonecipher, was involved in a serious accident that left him with thousands of dollars worth of legal fees. This event led him to see a need for an insurance that could mitigate unexpected legal expenses. Prepaid Legal is now established in 50 states and in Canada. The company provides expense reimbursement for legal services through plans sold by independent distributors.

About Prepaid Legal:

The various insurance plans offer a certain amount of coverage at no cost and increased coverage for reduced rates. The plans can include unlimited attorney consultation, letter writing, document preparation, traffic violation defense, motor vehicle-related criminal charges defense and general trial defense. Not covered are issues such as divorce, drug cases and major criminal cases; however, members can still receive legal assistance with these issues at a discounted rate. In addition to the legal insurance, the company also offers a monitoring system to help prevent identity theft.

Compensation:

The Prepaid Legal business opportunity is a typical MLM structure in which people can sell and recruit others to sell memberships. For a $49 fee you can become an independent distributor which gives you rights to market the plans to others. Commissions of $69 to $250 are paid when a member personally sponsors someone into the business.

This is a very credible company, and even if you aren’t interested in the business opportunity, the product is great buy. If you plan to do the business you should have an efficient marketing plan in place to better achieve success.

Pre Paid Legal Services

How Pre-paid Legal Services Saved Me a Bunch of Money on Taxes

I purchased a Pre-paid legal membership two years ago. As a member I pay $26.00 a month for a wide range of legal services.

One of the benefits that came with the membership was the ability to pick up a phone anytime during normal business hours and speak with an attorney. If I wanted to chat for 30 min. or an hour it didn’t matter, my monthly membership fee stays the same.

During 2005 I opened up a LLC (Limited Liability Company) for my real estate business. It seemed like a good idea at the time and I liked the asset protection that the LLC provided. In 2006 I decided to put my real estate business on hold and try something different. However, I did not close my LLC. I left it open on the pretence that I would work my real estate business in the future.

During May 2006 I decided to build a network marketing business. I left the LLC alone for an entire year. When I went to file my taxes at the beginning of 2007 I went to a local accountant. I explained my situation to her and this is what I gave her.

1. My personal income W-2

2. My business income 1099

3. LLC info.

Now, as far as my personal and 1099 were concerned they didn’t present a problem, however when it came to my LLC, she told me that I would need to contact a CPA and fill out a business return.

I was confused, especially sense the LLC didn’t produce any money for the year. I also new that she wanted to charge me $500.00 to complete my return as is and a CPA would be even more.
I know this sounds cliche, but what did I do? That’s right, I called my TAX ATTORNEY. I ran my situation by her and she informed me that all I had to do was file my 1040 and schedule C for my network marketing business and file an additional schedule C for my LLC just showing that the LLC made no profit for the year. That’s it! No CPA!

I took my attorney’s advise and filled out all the returns and submitted them electronically for a little over $100.00. I saved $400.00.

It was great to have an experienced attorney to call when I needed help. The best part is the advise I got was right on, I’ve had no problems with the IRS for that tax year.

What is your opinion about it?

it is sold thru multi-level marketing, MLM is a scam, a ripoff, and is a huge warning sign when it comes to product. The legal help may be legit, but the marketing scares wise people away.

Pre Paid Legal Scam

The Benefits Of Pre Paid Legal

Pre paid legal is a type of service that has been present for quite a while now. Pre paid legal is basically a service that’s very much like insurance. In insurance, you need to pay a small monthly fee to cover your health costs, your home, your vehicle, or other possessions of value. Pre paid legal follows the same concept, only this time, it deals with legal services. It covers basically everything that’s associated with legal issues. This can be tax problems, needing an attorney, or having papers signed for legal reasons. We all know how liability-filled our society is.

We more or less see legal issues left and right, and chances are, you may already have encountered some of these. If by any chance you have been in a situation that involves legal problems, you know very well how difficult and time consuming it is. Not only that, legal issues cost a lot too. This is pretty much what pre paid legal does for you, and it does this pretty well. It helps you lower the costs of your legal issues and it makes it very easy for you to manage. It wouldn’t be a hassle when you are covered by pre paid legal. In addition to that, you are also in the hands of very experienced people.

Probably the biggest benefit of being under a pre paid legal service is the amount of money that you could save. Just think of it as an insurance that covers all of your legal problems. It can help you with your tax questions, any legal questions, litigation, and even starting your own business. Along with that, when you’re put in an unconventional situation wherein you need to go to trial, you will be assisted entirely. If the service does not cover your particular legal issue, they will supply you with an attorney at a large discount. The lawyers that they supply are highly experienced and very knowledgeable. As a matter of fact, the lawyers that they send, have at least 10 years of experience in that specific legal issue.

Less Work For You

You need not worry about all of these boring and time-consuming matters. In most instances, it will even work towards your advantage because you will get tax refunds.
