I have a plan and use it. I don’t understand all the bad things people say. They are wrong.

I recently looked into Prepaid Legal Services, it looked like a good deal on paper. They offered free contract review, credit monitoring and several other things. I don’t know anyone else who has signed up to get their feedback, so I ask the Answers community….Has anyone any Prepaid Legal Feedback? Is it a good deal?

It’s a waste of money!

When my family had some legal trouble Prepaid Legal could only help with “general” information, in the end, we went to a police officer for free to advise law.

Keep in mind, legal information is entirely free. You have to do your research, indeed, but it’s in a book somewhere in some library.

Oh, and you are permitted 1 credit report from each of the 3 credit bureas for free each year – there’s no need to pay a monthly rate on something that’s already free.

There are opposite reports when it comes to people who have bought the plans. Some say they have saved significant amounts of money and benefited from the free consultations included in the plans. Others are adamant that the monthly fees are a waste of money because of all the issues that are not covered. In the end, the services like drawing up a will are the most commonly used and valued benefit, but once this has been done, some argue that you might not be likely to use the service again. On the other hand, there are some whose circumstances may allow them to use it more frequently, and these are the people who recommend buying the prepaid plans.

Because you receive a commission ahead of time for each membership you sell, if someone drops their membership, you are charged for the number of months that went unfulfilled. For those who continue selling Prepaid Legal plans there is also a residual income option that kicks in after someone renews their annual membership. During the 45-day training period you become qualified after you make 5 membership sales or recruit 3 people to join the sales program. After this initial period, more sales are required if you still want to qualify and move beyond the rank of an associate in training.

In the end, whoever is selling these plans has the power to inform or mislead those who buy the memberships. Hopefully the company’s incentives for renewals cause associates to make clear what customers are getting so that they will be happy enough to renew. This company is not the only one offering these kinds of prepaid services. If you believe you are likely to use them, it is worthwhile to check out and compare what other options are available for buying and selling these kinds of services.

I think it is a good service to have but not necessarily one to sell. You really have to be a people person to make money and it can be time consuming. I am an associate for this company. It has save many friends of mine from expensive speeding fines. The free will is worth the membership price its self. There are meeting you need to go to sell Prepaid. I have a policy myself and it has saved me money when I had my house built. I had to have some documents reviewed and they did that for me., I have the free Will. I have a cousin going through a custody fight and she has save a lot of money going through Prepaid. Ask a lot of questions about having to go to meetings and how to advertise if you are thinking about becoming an associate. I still say it is a great service for everyone to have but not necessarily a service for everyone to sell. I hope this helps answer your question.
